The diagnosis of the current status of the Cruces river wetland is the first measure of the judicial decision that sought to repair the environmental damage done in 2004 to this ecosystem. This diagnosis was conducted by an interdisciplinary team of researchers in charge of the zoologist Eduardo Jaramillo, PhD and its objective was to carry out a comprehensive study on the state of recovery of the wetland. In the videos below, we first present a summary of the Environmental Diagnosis Program of the Cruces river wetland and its tributaries rivers as of 2014-2015. Then, we present 5 videos that give an account of the different areas of study for this diagnosis.
The Cruces river wetland monitoring program is the third measure of the judicial decision and corresponds to a constant environmental monitoring program undertaken by the company Arauco S.A, for no less than 5 years. This monitoring program is also in charge of Eduardo Jaramillo, PhD and his team of researchers, which are part of Universidad Austral de Chile. At the bottom of this page you can review a video introducing the Monitoring Program.
